The mission of the Institute in Ecuador was founded in 1998 at the request of Monsignor Hugolino Cerasuolo, Bishop of Loja. IVE priests came to help in the diocesan seminary "Reina del Cisne" with the formation, and also in the parish of Zamora Huayco, Our Lady of the Rosary. A few years later, they founded the Minor Seminary "Blessed Francisco Marto" and the novitiate "Blessed Honorino of Our Sorrowful Lady" In the same Diocese of Loja, the IVE priests helped in the sanctuary of Our Lady of Cisne, then founded the parish "Our Lady of the Rosary" in Gualel, a town in the mountain range around Loja. A few years later, at the request of Monsignor Arregui, the Institute began his missionary work in the Archdiocese of Guayaquil in two parishes set in some poor areas around the city. The parish St. Luis King of France in the Central Guasmo (a district in the city of Guayaquil) and St. Pius of Pietrelcina in Southern Guasmo, where the missionaries have also a parish school. At this time, our priests are working in both Dioceses, where they attend the parishes and develop our proper apostolates such as the preaching of Spiritual Exercises, popular missions, publication of books, Conferences for youth and families, etc.
